Unless your definition of "some" is my definition of "many". The loot system would have to be checked again, merchants would have to get new inventories, every encounter needs a new skillset (at least for the first half of the game) to match with your skills, and so on. So if you have a working party at the end of a ng, you would (without rebalancing every encounter) destroy everything in Act 1 and probably Act 2 too. In DOS 2 relies very much on the gear/skills/stats you have and how they work together in a party.

On the other hand you can be max level and still get killed by starting aera mobs. You can finish the game without taking 1 point of damage. In Dark Souls gear/skills/stat dont matter that much. This works for other games like Dark Souls. You could just make a "give everthing a 20% stat boost" ng+. That actually sounds like not much mork tbh. At first you would have to take a character out of a savefile and replicate it into a new one. Just because someone has coded some lines doesnt make him realise that something like this causes a lot of problems. Rather silly thing to say, i have coded some primitive crap just for the fun of it, and have the game restart with a coresponding save with all npcs getting a +20% buff really is a few lines of code, provided you do something as simple as +20% buff, it only gets to "durr devs need infinite munez" if you want to add some ng+ only mechanics. Not somerthing I personally care about but I am not against the idea, still you probably need to be more specific about what you want from this New Game+? Being able to import an existing character into a new game while keeping their previous level and items? Or a New Game+ where once you finish the game you can take your character and play through a version of the main campaign that has been rebalanced for higher level characters?įor the first one you need to decide whether or not you will allow importing characters for multiplayer game or whether you want everyone to start off on equal footing giving the host the tools to control those settings of their games, for the second one you need to go over the campaign again rebalancing all the encounters and quests.Įither approach requires work to implement and personally I would rather see the efforts focused elsewhere, for me the replayability of this game comes from the different character combinations in regards to race, origin and build and the different difficulty settings.
